Sunscreen Mistakes

We all know the dangers of not using sunscreen -- the number one cause of wrinkles and skin damage. While we may have the best intentions, we sometimes make unintended mistakes. Here are the top two:

Not reapplying Sunscreen During the Day

Women are getting better at remembering to apply sunscreen to their faces in the morning, but many of us forget that sunscreen wears off during the day, or don't want to reapply it over makeup. Not reapplying sunscreen throughout the day can be dangerous to your skin. It only takes 10 or 15 minutes of daily unprotected sun exposure to cause UV damage to your skin. Relying Only on the SPF in Makeup

While a powdered mineral makeup with SPF is great for touch-ups, don't rely solely on your foundation for SPF protection. Liquid foundations especially, can move and wear off in a few hours, and while the SPF on the bottle may say 15 or 30, to actually get that amount of protection, you'd need to slather on a thick coat of makeup.
